Lisa Niemi Swayze to Make Special Appearance
At ‘Coco For A Cure’ Art & Fashion Celebration
COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (November 8, 2017) – Lisa Niemi Swayze, who is the Chief Ambassador of Hope for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network®, will make a special appearance at the “Coco For A Cure” Art & Fashion Celebration at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek on Thursday, November 16.
A film industry veteran, Niemi Swayze recently completed a book titled “Worth Fighting For,” which chronicles her last months with husband/actor, Patrick Swayze, as he battled pancreatic cancer.
A New York Times Best Seller and international best seller, the book has been described as an emotionally honest and unflinching depiction of battling illness and loss, as well as a life-affirming exploration of the power of the human spirit.
Niemi Swayze’s role with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network® includes helping raise awareness and research funding for a disease the American Cancer Society estimates will affect 53,670 people in 2017.
The “Coco For a Cure” Art & Fashion Celebration will be held on World Pancreatic Cancer Day from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Legends Lounge. Hosted by Captain Lee Rosbach from Bravo TV’s Below Deck, attendees can enjoy an evening of fine art from Blackburn Galleries, fashion by Bloomingdales®, NYY Steak signature bites, live entertainment, giveaways and more. In supporting the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network® during Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month in November, Seminole Casino Coconut Creek is helping raise awareness and funds for the fight against pancreatic cancer via different initiatives such as the sale of logoed items, food and beverage programs and purple-themed décor throughout the property.
Additionally, throughout the month, team members will be wearing purple Pancreatic Cancer Awareness wristbands, ribbons and pins.
Beyond its on-site efforts, Seminole Casino Coconut Creek team members will also participate in the PURPLESTRIDE® Broward-Palm Beach 2017 Walk (PurpleStride) on Sunday, November 19, presented by the Memorial Cancer Institute.
